The Intel Core i7 Extreme processors are designed for overclockers, Gaming events and absolute enthusiasts. Most processors have 6 cores, the minimum is 4. All CPUs support hyperthreading, which complements each physical CPU core to another virtual core, thus increasing the processor's performance by up to 40%.The LGA 2011 Socket (Intel X79 Express chipset) can take up to 2 processors and provides up to 8 DDR3 Ram banks per processor as well as up to 7 PCI-E 16x slots. 4-way SLI or Crossfire X is supported.
